EC-3+ Air Filtration System For Large Floral & Produce Cold Storages

• The EC-3+ system will reduce ethylene levels up to 98.9  percent to reduce shrink and extend shelf life. The EC-3+ filtration system which holds 100 lbs. of our patented Power Pellets. One EC-3+ filtration system can effectively lower ethylene gas readings in storage areas from 75,000 to 150,000 cubic feet, depending on the commodities being stored. In larger rooms more EC-3+ units are used Example: In a 300,000 cubic foot room you would need two EC-3+ systems. The Patented Power Pellets have also be proven to kill molds and rots. 

• Each unit uses 100 pounds of pellets to get the proper air speed across the pellets for the reaction time needed to remove the ethylene gas. The pellets start out a bright purple and turn brown from the outside in. You need the crush a half a handful of pellets after about 2 months to see how much purple is left. Then check the pellets about once a month. When there is 25% purple and 75% brown it is time to change the pellets. 

• Pellet life varies depending on commodity and storage conditions.  A single charge of Power Pellets can last three to six months or longer with produce and up to a year with floral.  At the end of your season, if the pellets aren't used up, simply store them away in the original container and use them the next season.

• You can place the unit most anywhere in the room as long as you don't block the air flow. the units are on casters. Some customers build a angle iron frame take off the casters and mount the unit on the wall over the door out of the way. Our unit works in conjunction with your cooling system air movement.

To calculate your room size in cubic feet, simply multiply the length by the width by the height in feet.  The sum of your equation equals Cubic Feet.  
A (length/feet) x B (width/feet) x C (height/feet) = Cubic Feet
Example: A 80 ft. X 50 ft. X 25 ft. = 100,000 Cubic Feet

Filters for Sea Containers, Reefer Trailers And Walk-Ins!

• 7" x 18" x 2" Filters and the 2 lb Bag Filter are ideal for floral, supermarket and food service walk-in coolers, refrigerated trucks and containers including small cold storage rooms up to 3,000 cubic feet.

  The 28 gram sachets are also used for produce and floral reach-ins, they come in 10 packs for this use. One per reach-in door and they last for 3 months.

   

• 18" x 20" x 2" Filters are ideal for larger walk-in coolers and small cold storages up to 10,000 cubic feet.

  Ethylene Control filters remove ethylene gas from already boxed produce and floral products shipped by refer trucks or in sea containers. Filters can be mounted anywhere in the air-flow system. As air passes through the filter, it oxidizes the ethylene gas and also kills molds and rots.

  Filters are also used in walk-in refrigerators by florists, restaurants, schools and hospitals, produce and floral commodities stay fresher longer. Ethylene Control filters reduce odors and retard taste migration for up to three months with produce and six months with floral.

  Sachets For Produce & Floral Products

  Ethylene Control Power Pellet sachets. the best assurance you can get against poor arrivals and shipping adjustments. A single sachet per box protects continuously, from the packing line to the retail backroom by removing ethylene gas. If you use sachets you do not need to use a filter.

  The Patented Power Pellets in the sachets also kill molds and rots. We offer 5, 9 and 28 gram sachets for the floral and produce industry.

  5 GRAM	Used with LOW producing commodities, such as vegetables and flowers. In up to a 10 lb box.
  9 GRAM	Used with MEDIUM ethylene producing commodities, such as peaches, plums, nectarines, mangos, avocados. In up to a 30 lb box, or with oranges, lemons and limes, up to 40 lbs.
  28 GRAM	Used with HIGH ethylene producing commodities such as apples, pears and melons, In up to a 40 to 50 lb box. The 28 gram sachets are also used for produce and floral reach-ins, they come in 10 packs for this use. One per reach-in door and they last for 3 months.

   

  As they work, environmentally friendly Power Pellets are transformed naturally into an organic fertilizer (manganese dioxide). Both packaging material and inks are FDA approved. Power Pellets are registered under U.S. patent numbers 5,278,112 and 5,314,852.
