Does this approach work? In 1996, our first year out, we placed third in overall points. In 1997, we finished a strong second. In 1998, we won the Western Super Modified Racing Association Championship. When you partner with us, you'll share in this dream as we build on our winning reputation. Like our driver and pit crew, each sponsor plays a crucial role on our team.
Troy Regier, one of the best young drivers in the business, attracts attention every time out. Sports writers and racing enthusiasts know that, as a sponsor, you'll share in the spotlight. How would you like to see your logo on our Hyder Hawk as Troy takes the winning lap? As a sponsoring team member, you'll see you logo displayed in approximately 12 races across the western United States, including California, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Utah and Idaho. Each race typically draws 2,000 to 25,000 fans. Every year, several races are televised on national or regional networks. The season's hightlight, Copper World Classic is broadcast on TNN four to six times throughout the year. We'll keep you informed about current and upcoming events through our regular newsletter, and you'll be listed on our website, for all the world to see.
Thanks for your interest in our racing program. We invite you to come on board as a sponsor and to choose the sponsorship package that best meets your own needs and ambitions. Your decision is important, and I'd like to discuss it with you personally. You can see we are serious about winning another championship in 1999. Now is the time to join our winning team, give us a call at (800) 200-1909 or (559) 896-2076.

TROY REGIER: A TRUE CHAMPION
Troy Regier grew up on the family farm and at age 5 began racing the family Volkswagen around their dirt track. During his early years he won numerous titles racing pro motorcross and superbike motorcycles. He was fast, aggressive and liked to be first.
![]() |
In 1991, he set out on the journey towards his Indy car dream. He built a 360 Super Modified race car. In his first season, 1992, he won 5 out of 12 races - setting 4 track records that year.
Troy had his sights set on getting a ride in a Super Modified, following Billy Vukovich III and Davey Hamilton. Success came faster than he thought. After one year in 360's, Rebel Jackson Sr. (out of Washington) gave Troy a ride. In his first Super race, he set a track record in qualifying and finished second in the main. Regier went on to win 3 main events and several top 3 finishes, earning him 2nd in the North West Racing Association, 3rd in the Western Super Modified Racing Association and Rookie of the Year in both associations. In 1994, there was no stopping Troy. He stepped into the new Ed Hyder prototype, which everyone called a rocket. In only the 3rd race of the season, Troy’s car owner, Rebel Jackson Sr., was killed during a crash in the Portland Super Modified race. For the remainder of the season and into 1995, Regier earned a reputation of grabbing rides where he could. He drove for Trigueiro Motorsports, filling in for Davey Hamilton and Paul Durant, with wins at San Diego and Madera. He also drove his own 360, winning races in both classes. He drove a few United States Auto Club midget races for Fred Gerhardt finishing 3rd and 5th his first time out.
After 1995, his long time sponsor, Dave Biswell, bought a Super Modified program including the Hyder Hawk prototype. 1997 was a good year, but not what Troy was looking for - with only 2 wins and several top 4 finishes, earning him 2nd in the Western Super Modified Racing Association. In 1998 Troy had a very exciting year with a new 1 mile world record of 22.586 seconds at over 159 MPH at Pikes Peak Intl. Raceway. He beat Davey Hamilton's 1 mile record. He won 37% of his races in '98 and set number of track records, ultimatley taking the WSMRA Supermodified Championship for 1998!
1999 is expected to be better than ever coming off two consecutive wins in '98 and '99 at the Copper World Classic beating IRL regulars Tony Stewart, Paul Durant, Davey Hamilton and Joe Goseck.
Troy not only has the talent and desire but the maturity to win the race. Faith, family and the love of the sport is what he attributes to his success. He truly is a champion.

COPPER WORLD WINNER…AGAIN!!
February 10, 1999
Just a real quick note to let you all know that Troy Regier and BiswellMotorsports have done it again - even better than ever!!
It was a race like you've probably never seen or will see again! We don't want to spoil the fun by giving you all the details - so watch it on TNN. We've been told it will be aired on either February 21st, 28th or March 7th at noon California time. If we find out any differently we will try to let you know. It will be listed as "Race of the Week"/ CopperWorld Classic". There were four classes of cars and TNN airs two classes at a time - so if we're not on the first airing, we will be on the second airing.
We're very happy with the win! We will try to catch Troy to write a newsletter after the airing on TNN - we don't want to give away all the excitement. He's really busy trying to capitalize on his big win and raise enough money for an Indy test. If you know of anyone or you would be interested in helping with the cost - about $25,000 - any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for all your support …enjoy the race!!
Our sponsors are greatly appreciated
